PURPOSE OF THE SESSION
This special session aims on the one hand to promote research activities related to blind identification methods in the areas of signal processing, computer science, mathematics and telecommunications. These so-called blind or semi-blind methods have been confined for a long time for much of them in the field of military applications or surveillance government agencies.
For these reasons, researchers in this area used to have some difficulties to publish or share their work with the scientific community. However, with the emergence of cognitive radio, many results originally restricted to the military field, seem to be able to be transferable to civil applications using the principles of cognitive radio providing innovative and relevant solutions, more adaptive and generic than conventional cooperatives methods.
In addition, this session also aims to gather and bring together researchers from different specialties involved in the field of blind identification methods for military communications and applications in cognitive radio, to initiate or strengthen interdisciplinary collaborations in this promising field.
